International / Waist-High Units are Shipping Ahead of Schedule! 📦🚢

We have great news for our international backers and those who have been waiting for the Waist-High Nebia by Moen -- we have started shipping the Waist-High version and international shipments ahead of schedule!  🎉 🎉🎉 In fact, we shipped the first 50 Waist-High Nebia by Moen pledges last week and they should be arriving to their destination countries shortly. Beginning next week, we will be shipping 500 Waist-High units each week until all 1,600 shipments have been completed by early September. Our team has worked incredibly hard to get the waist-high version of Nebia by Moen to our backers as soon as possible and we’re proud to be two months ahead of the shipping timeline originally stated on our campaign.

This is a big milestone for us because, for the first time in Nebia’s history, we have designed a shower that works with the standard European setting of a waist-high water outlet. This has been highly requested over the years and we are very excited to offer this elegant and intuitive-to-use solution sooner than expected.

Installation of the Waist-High Nebia by Moen 

In previous updates we have recommended that Waist-High backers acquaint themselves with the Installation Guide in order to speed up the install process upon arrival. Now we have something even better -- a video that walks you through each step of the installation process. This video is meant to complement the Install Guide included in the box. We recommend watching the video all the way through before beginning the installation. To watch the video, click the image or hyperlink below and you will be taken to a blog post containing the video.

We also recommend having all of the tools pictured below before beginning the installation.

While the Waist-High Nebia by Moen does involve some drilling into your shower wall, it is still a relatively easy installation that should take you between 20-30 minutes. However, if you do not feel comfortable performing any step yourself, please contact a plumber or reach out at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help.

Important - Tracking IDs, Import Fees & Multiple-Item Pledges

As soon as your unit has shipped, you will receive an email containing your tracking number. We also want to remind you that, as stated in our Kickstarter campaign and FAQs, recipients of orders outside of the United States are responsible for any and all costs associated with import taxes, customs duties, or fees levied by the destination country. As a small company, international customs duties are unfortunately outside of our control and we cannot estimate the exact amount. Find out more here. Also, any add-ons such as shelves will ship separately from your Nebia by Moen but will ship during the same timeframe.

Finally, there are still a handful of people who have not yet completed their BackerKit surveys. As a reminder, we will not ship your unit until you’ve completed your BackerKit survey. Brushed Nickel Shelf Shipping Next Week & More 📦

If you added a Brushed Nickel shelf to your pledge, we wanted to let you know that there has been a further delay. A component of this particular shelf is made abroad and has unfortunately been affected by Covid-19 shipping and supply chain issues. The good news is that they are already manufactured and we’re now just waiting for them to arrive in the U.S. Upon arrival, members of the Nebia team will be hand-assembling them in our SF office in order to get them to you as quickly as possible. We expect to ship all Brushed Nickel shelves next week. 

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate you bearing with us, we assure you they’re worth the wait! In fact, the editors of Sunset Magazine recently included the Nebia Shelf in their list of Genius Products for a Clean, Tidy Home, describing it as a “smart solution… that supports real weight, sans anchors or screws.” 💡

North American Shipments Complete 🥳, International Still On Track!

We are very excited to announce that we have completed shipments to all backers in North America (NPT pipe fittings)! 8,337 of you now have Nebia by Moen in your home! 🎉 🎉 The only exceptions to this are our stretch goal Black & Chrome units and the 113 people who have yet to complete their BackerKit surveys. As a reminder, we will not ship your unit until you’ve completed your BackerKit survey. If you have not filled out your survey, please go to https://nebia-by-moen.backerkit.com/ and use your Kickstarter login information to access your BackerKit profile. If you need any help, contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to assist you. As mentioned previously, if you ordered a Black & Chrome unit it will begin shipping at the end of this month and you should receive yours in early July.

🌍 International backers (with BSPT/P pipe connections), your pledges are still on schedule to begin shipping in August through the end of October. Some backers have asked why the E.U. version ships months later than the North American version. The reason for this is the E.U. version is a different product and therefore requires a different production schedule. The main differences are a different pipe threading (BSP vs. NPT) and a custom waist-high water outlet versus overhead water outlet (see more information regarding the E.U version below).

Add-ons

We want to reiterate that if you’re located in North America and have not yet received your add-on (valve, valve trim, and/or Nebia Shelf), you should expect it this month (unless you ordered a Brushed Nickel shelf). There was a slight delay with the Brushed Nickel Shelves and they will be shipping out in early July. Also, please remember that all add-ons ship separately from your Nebia by Moen.

Removing the Black Plug (Combo backers only)

If you ordered the Combo (Rainshower + Wand), some of you will receive a unit with a black plug installed at the base of the bracket. If this is the case, remove the plug before installing your unit. To do so, push the button on the back of the wand port. While the button is depressed, pull the plug out. If you have already attached your unit to the wall, disconnect it by pushing the button on the top of the wall bracket and then lift up and outward on the wall bracket and it will unhook it from the bottom bracket retainer. You will then be able to remove the black plug. See this article for more information.

International Backers

For the first time ever, a Nebia shower was built to not only work with the standard North American plumbing setup but also with the standard European setting of a waist-level water outlet. We're really excited that we can finally offer you a solution that is clean, easy, and intuitive to use.

For customers outside of North America, we have developed two versions of Nebia by Moen: one that is compatible with above head high water outlets, and another that is compatible with waist-high water outlets (most commonly found in Europe and Asia). In your BackerKit survey, you were asked to select which version you would like based on your setup. If you need a waist-high version, we suggest that you acquaint yourself with the install guide in order to speed up the install process upon arrival.  Black Lives Matter & A Way Forward

Since our last update, the world has changed following the senseless murder of George Floyd. The uproar of protests against racism and police brutality across America, and in many other parts of the world, have caused us to reexamine ourselves and our company. We believe that advocating for a more sustainable world is impossible if social injustices, racism, and violence are not addressed. We have a responsibility to protect not only planet Earth but all of its inhabitants, especially those who have been historically and systematically oppressed in the U.S. To our Black community members, we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you. There is no environmental justice until we can learn to combat social justice issues together.

As a company we issued this statement. We are also committed to supporting the movement in other ways, including donating to Campaign Zero. Internally we’re also striving to do better. Historically, the sustainability space has frequently omitted and disregarded the voices and values of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). We are committed to amplifying Black voices in the environmental space going forward. We started by highlighting 8 Black environmental leaders and activists who are working towards building a more sustainable and just future in this blog post. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating these incredible leaders and amplifying their voices.

We hope that this moment is a turning point where modern society joins together to work for racial justice and a more climate-friendly future. It is very long overdue.

This month has been a very busy one for us as we’ve been working around the clock to get you your units. If you’re located in North America and have not yet received your add-on (valve, valve trim, and/or Nebia Shelf), you should expect it this month, with the exception of Brushed Nickel Shelves which will ship in June. Note that all add-ons will ship separately from your Nebia by Moen.

If your unit has not yet shipped, you are still on time to add an accessory to your pledge! Add-ons include the Nebia Shelf (available for U.S. and international shipments), a standard valve, and valve trim from Moen’s Align collection (available only in the U.S. because of different plumbing standards for valves). In the last couple of weeks, hundreds of Nebia by Moens have been arriving every day to homes across North America. Thanks for sharing your Nebia experience with us!!

Interested in more shower inspo? Watch as interior design, DIY-er, and mom Taryn Whiteaker gives her bathroom a “facelift” with her White & Chrome Nebia by Moen. Courtney Veronica likewise wanted a bathroom makeover but didn't want to renovate her entire bathroom. She needed something that fit her budget, she could install herself, was tall enough for her husband but maintained hot water and pressure for her, and gave her a “blissful shower experience.” Luckily, Nebia by Moen checked all of her boxes! In Courtney’s words, “I was a little intimidated at first but...I rolled up my sleeves on Saturday and expected to spend a couple hours installing it, and it literally took 20 min!... Happy Earth Week!!!

In a time where much of the outdoors are off limits, we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day by partnering with six incredibly talented photographers from around the world. We’ve asked them to share a favorite photo with us, as well as their unique perspective and what they’ve learned from photographing our beautiful Blue Planet.

Our hope is that these photos will transport us far beyond our current surroundings and inspire us to think of new ways to connect with the natural world. Shipping Timeline

In other news, we are still working hard to deliver your Nebia by Moen as soon as possible. As we mentioned in our last update, our supply chain has been slightly impacted by Covid-19, meaning that we shipped fewer units in April than expected. However, we are still on time to deliver all pledges per the timeline on our campaign page. In fact, we expect to ship all remaining North American Kickstarter units (except for the Black & Chrome finish) in May. As previously stated, if you have selected Black & Chrome, these units will ship later than the other finishes, starting in June. International rewards will begin shipping in August through the end of October as stated on our original timeline.

If you’re located in North America and have not yet received your add-on (valve, valve trim, and/or Nebia Shelf), you should expect it in May at approximately the same date as your shower. Note that all Spot Resist Nickel Shelves will ship in June and that any add-ons will ship separately from your Nebia by Moen.

We also wanted to share some exciting news -- we made Fast Company's list of 10 most innovative social good companies of 2020 and Good Housekeeping included Nebia by Moen in their list of best shower heads! To determine the 9 best shower heads on the market, the Good Housekeeping Institute Wellness Lab experts and over 120 consumer testers took hundreds of showers, evaluating things like ease of installing, quality, intensity and coverage of water stream, overall look and design, and more. In the end, they named Nebia by Moen the “Most Innovative Showerhead” on the market. What an honor! 🚿
