Install & compatibility: What are the install requirements for homes in North America?

Nebia by Moen now works in more homes than ever! The Rainshower and Combo are compatible with the standard North American plumbing setup, above head height water outlet connections.

Installation Requirements:

WATER HEATER TEMPERATURE
  • At least 115°F/46°C
WATER PRESSURE
  • At least 20psi/1.4bar
SPACING
  • The water outlet must be in a wall (not the ceiling).
  • The recommended floor to water outlet distance is 72""-84""(183-213cm).
  • The minimum clearance from water outlet to ceiling is 4"" (10cm).
  • Make sure there is 25"" (64cm) of clear space between your shower arm and the top of the trim/temperature controls.
  • The minimum clearance from the nearest sidewall is 5"" (13cm).
OTHER
  • Your wall must have a 1⁄2"" NPT pipe connection (this is standard in most bathrooms).
  • For slate tile walls, you will have to use the included screws instead of the adhesive pads to secure the bracket and wand dock.

Please Note: Trim/temperature controls not included with the Nebia by Moen, but can be purchased as add-ons.

Installation Kits:

  • All backers with delivery addresses within North America will receive ½ NPT pipe thread install kits. NPT stands for National Pipe Thread and ½ is the standard plumbing connection used throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Install & compatibility: What are the install requirements outside of North America?

For customers outside of North America, we have developed two versions of Nebia by Moen: one that is compatible with above head high water outlets, and another that is compatible with waist-high water outlets (most commonly found in Europe and Asia). You will be able to select which version you want based on your setup through your BackerKit survey.

Please Note:

  • Trim/temperature controls not included with the Nebia by Moen.
  • The waist-high compatible version will require screwing into your wall in order to mount.
  • The waist-high compatible version will only be available to international customers (customers outside of North America)

  • All backers in Australia will automatically receive a waist-high ½ BSPT shower. The waist-high shower connection will require screwing into your wall.

Install & compatibility: Will Nebia by Moen be compatible with a waist level water outlets (common in Europe)?

Yes! For customers outside of North America, we have developed two versions of Nebia by Moen: one that is compatible with above head water outlets, and another that is compatible with waist-high water outlets (most commonly found in Europe and Asia). This version will include an additional hose which you can connect to your waist-high water outlet.

Install & compatibility: Do I need the waist-high version? (backers outside of North America only)

Backers outside of North America have the option to select between two versions of the Nebia by Moen, each compatible with a specific shower configuration.

1. Above-Head Water Outlet with in-wall BSPT fittings.

  • This setup will not require any additional steps and will follow the same installation instructions as the standard North American model.


2. Waist-High Water Outlet with BSPP fittings (common in Europe).

  • The water outlet can be located both above head or at waist height as seen in the graphic below. However, this is the only option available for backers with waist-high water outlets.
  • This setup will require a few additional steps (screwing the bracket into the wall, see installation video and instructions below).
  • This option is not available for backers with NPT fittings (in North America). We know that some of you have requested it, and we are really sorry that we aren’t able to provide it yet. We are looking into it for some point in the future.
  • This is the only option available for Australian backers.
  • The waist-high water outlet version of Nebia by Moen will mount perfectly against the bathroom wall and will not require an adapter kit. Instead, it will come with an additional hose that will attach to the water source. If you order the Combo, the hose will match the Wand hose. It will come with a separate mount and three screws that can be easily installed (see the instructions below). The user can decide where to install their Nebia by Moen, and at what height, as long as the hose reaches the water outlet.

Install & compatibility: How long does it take to install Nebia by Moen?

The installation process was designed with the user in mind and only takes 15 active minutes to install. It doesn’t require any broken tile or fancy tools. Simply unscrew your current showerhead and use the tools provided in the box to get set up. Nebia effortlessly snaps into the wall and the wand attaches with a satisfying click. If you run into any trouble along the way, we’re here to help.

International Backers, Please Note: The waist-high shower version of Nebia by Moen will require screwing into your wall in order to mount.

Install & compatibility: Can I use the same hardware from Nebia Gen 1.0 and 2.0 to install Nebia by Moen?

No. Unfortunately, Nebia 1.0 and 2.0 install kits are not cross-compatible with Nebia by Moen. This is due to engineering constraints in the design of Nebia by Moen. However, all products ship with an install kit that work with that product.

Pledge Management & Add-Ons: How do I add items to my pledge?

You have the ability to add items to your pledge via the BackerKit survey flow by purchasing additional “Add-On” items. These items (e.g., Nebia by Moen Rainshower, Nebia by Moen Combo, Nebia Shelf, Moen Align Trims and Valve) are available to Kickstarter backers at discounted prices exclusive for Kickstarter backers.

Any items you add on to your pledge will not be charged until your pledge is locked (a few weeks before shipping).

Pledge Management & Add-Ons: How do I select the color of my Nebia by Moen, Nebia Shelf, and/or Valve Trim?

During the survey flow, you will be asked to select your color choices for the item in your pledge as well as any additional add-ons you select. Please note that if you pledged for more than one Nebia by Moen unit, you can select the color of each additional unit under the add-on menu. You will not be charged an additional amount if you have already covered them under your pledge. If you wish to select additional units that are not covered under your pledge, you can also add them to your cart here (and the outstanding balance will be shown when you checkout)

Please note that the shipping schedule may vary based on the color you select.

Pledge Management & Add-Ons: How do I pay for shipping?

Your shipping fee was included as part of your Kickstarter pledge based on the pledge tier and shipping country you selected during Kickstarter checkout process. If you change your shipping country or add additional items to your pledge via the BackerKit survey, your shipping fee will be automatically recalculated and (if greater) you will need to pay the difference between the original and new shipping fee.

After the campaign ends, you will no longer be able to make changes to your Kickstarter pledge via Kickstarter. You will, however, be able to make changes or updates to your pledge via your BackerKit survey.

Pledge Management & Add-Ons: How do I make changes after completing my survey? (color selections, shipping address, add-on items, credit card information)

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses (color selections, shipping address, add-on items, credit card information)at any time before we lock your survey a few weeks prior to shipping. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under “Lost your survey?” on our BackerKit project page. If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support via our BackerKit project page. You’ll receive an email notifying you ahead of your survey being locked, so you can review your responses and make any final changes if necessary. Once your survey is locked, you will no longer be able to make changes to your order.

Your survey will be locked when we are preparing to ship the first item in your order. You’ll receive an email notifying you ahead of your survey being locked, so you can review your responses and make any final changes if necessary. Once your survey is locked, you will no longer be able to make changes to your order.

If you choose to add additional items to your order via the survey process, you will be asked to provide your payment information. However, your card will not be charged until your order is locked prior to shipping.

Warranty: What are Nebia by Moen’s warranty policies?

North America Nebia by Moen units sold within North America are covered by Moen’s Limited Lifetime Warranty (see details here: http://bit.ly/NbM-warranty)

Outside of North America: For all units sold outside of North America, Nebia provides a 180-day warranty from the original date of delivery. The warranty is nontransferable but extensive, covering the full replacement cost of all defective part(s) and finishes, excluding shipping costs and tax or import fees. Nebia will provide the replacement components necessary to restore the Nebia by Moen back to good working condition. Nebia will not be responsible for labor charges, and/or damage incurred in installation, repair or replacement, nor for incidental or consequential damages.

Shipping: How do I pay for shipping?

Your Kickstarter pledge amount already include shipping. If you have manually increased your pledge amount to include more Nebia by Moen units, then this amount will be used to cover shipping costs of additional units selected as Add-ons.

If you entered the incorrect pledge amount, don’t worry! After you have selected your Add-ons and additional units, you can pay the remaining balance on your account with the payment form of your choice.

Shipping: Why is international shipping expensive?

The Nebia by Moen is shipped in a very large box (28” x 17” x 6”), which makes it quite expensive to ship, especially internationally. We have worked hard to secure discounted shipping rates, and we pass these rates along to our backers.

Shipping: Will my order(s) ship in one box/all at the same time?

After the campaign, you will be sent a survey via BackerKit which will allow you to confirm your pledge and select your color choices. If you order more than one Nebia by Moen and select different color choices, your order items may ship separately by color. Add-ons will also be shipped separately.

Shipping: Who is responsible for paying customs duties and taxes?

Recipients of orders shipped outside of the United States will be responsible for any and all costs associated with import taxes, customs duties, or fees levied by the destination country. Nebia has no control over such charges and cannot estimate the exact amount. Please contact your local customs office for more information.

If you decline to pay these duties and taxes due to the carrier upon delivery of your order, the package may be considered abandoned, destroyed, or returned to the United States (at an extremely high cost charged to Nebia). Under these circumstances, we, unfortunately, cannot consider requests for replacement shipments.

Shipping: When can I expect to receive my pledge?

With Moen as our partner, we are able to deliver Nebia by Moen in record time to your home. We will ship to North American backers beginning in March through July 2020. For backers outside of North America, we will begin delivering units in August and go through October 2020. These units have different compatibility requirements and are part of a different production run.

Product Q's: Can I use the Wand by itself, with the Rainshower turned off?

Believe us, we really wanted to make the Nebia by Moen Wand work independently of the Overhead. We couldn’t include that feature for regulatory reasons, which are designed to protect people from scalding. The flow rate of the Wand is about 0.4 gpm, whereas the flow rate of the Rainshower is about 1.35 gpm. For many shower valves, when the flow rate suddenly switches from 1.75 gpm to 0.4 gpm, the temperature can also suddenly increase, which creates potential for scalding. While we don’t think there is much risk of scalding for this product, we had to stay in compliance with these rules. We fully understand the many reasons why you would want to use the Wand without the Rainshower. We’re working on delivering this feature, completely safely, in future products.

Great question. Nebia by Moen is not a replacement for Nebia 2.0. Rather, each product offers unique value propositions. Nebia by Moen provides our most ever spray force and coverage, is our warmest shower yet, has 17” of vertical slide and an 8” showerhead with 8 total spray nozzles, at our lowest ever price point. Nebia 2.0 saves the most water (up to 65%) with a finer-droplet, more spa-like experience, has 24” of vertical slide and a 10” showerhead with 13 total spray nozzles, and uses more premium materials. We are incredibly proud of both products, and we believe there are customers who will love each product.

Refunds or Exchanges: What are your policies surrounding refunds and returns?

For all Nebia by Moen Kickstarter backers, you can cancel your pledge at any time while our campaign is active and prior to the reward items shipping.

Once shipped, we do not offer returns on items received as Kickstarter rewards. The support we receive through Kickstarter enables us to bring new products to market, grow our business, interact with customers early and often, and improve our existing products. In the Kickstarter community, the items that you receive after making a pledge are referred to as “rewards” because they are not purchases in the traditional sense. They are gifts - in our case, a shower - that are sent to our supporters as a token of appreciation for their support of our mission. In the same way that public television funds their service through the pledges of their supporters, who in turn receive gifts and continued programming, we have chosen to run and grow our business on a crowdfunded business model.

We appreciate your understanding of our policy and the support you have given us. Although we won’t allow returns once shipped, we will allow for refunds before we ship your product.

The delivery date for your Nebia by Moen will depend on your geographic location, your backer number, when you complete your survey, and which color finish you select. North American pledges will ship beginning in March through July 2020*. For backers outside of North America, we will begin delivering units in August through October 2020. Please review our monthly Kickstarter updates for the latest information on shipping timelines. *The Chrome+Black finish will begin shipping to North American backers in June-July 2020.

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
